Midwife and pregnancy care

Maternity care is usually shared between your GP, local midwife and the hospital. Following a positive pregnancy test you need to ring and make a booking appointment with the midwife (Nicky Such). To make this initial appointment ring 0115 8837000. You should be 8 to 10 weeks at the time of the appointment. The booking clinic is on a Tuesday afternoon and the appointment lasts for an hour. Please bring a urine sample with you. You will then follow the NICE (2003) recommendations for antenatal care. You will get a handout at the booking outlining the plan for your antenatal care. You can see a copy of this by following this link. Followup appointments are usually on Tuesday mornings

Doctors see antenatal patients during regular surgery hours.
