If when ordering a prescription you are told "a review is required", please type the NAMES of the medications you require in the "Medication request notes" box and send it through as normal. We will get a doctor to review it rapidly and process your request at the same time.There is NO NEED to make an appointment.
If you find other problems you can explain in the text area, we will do our best to sort it out. Please add a contact number if necessary.
What is a 'review?' A review is a process that a doctor undertakes periodically (at least annually) on every patient with a repeat prescription. It usually happens in the background without your knowledge and involves checking the computer record of usage. We check that the drugs are appropriate, being taken correctly, and that necessary blood checks have been done. When drugs are ordered through our staff, we get advance warning that a review is due and deal with it rapidly. We do not get that warning when drugs are ordered online. We are hoping our 'SystmOne' software people will soon remedy this problem.
