GP access for patients with Disability and Communication Difficulties

At Keyworth Medical Practice we aim to cater for all our patients and constantly strive to improve the care we offer.
There is disabled access to the first floor where our GP practice is located. You can access this via the lift on ground floor. If patient’s require a wheel chair, there is one stored at the bottom of the stairs on the ground floor as you enter through the main doors. We have double doors for wheelchair access and all consulting room doors are approved for disabled access.

For those with hearing difficulties we have a protocol for booking a sign language interpreter. We also have the avalability of hearing loops. Our staff are aware of the systems that are in place.

We realise that our patients have individual needs and prefer different methods of communication. We tailor everything to meet their needs. Some prefer to come into the surgery and make a appointment direct at reception and have things written down. Some prefer to have a letter sent out to them with their appointment or management details. We have clear and visible deaf aware polices.
