Fantastic care – never long to get an appointment. In an emergency today I arrived without an appointment and was seen by a nurse, the doctor, in less than ¼ hour.

Practice comment – Thank you. We offer an urgent sit and wait surgery every morning and encourage patients to telephone the surgery before 10am if they need to be seen urgently that day.

The Doctors are all lovely. Emergency treatment is very good. Routine appointments though have up to a 3 week wait attached  which is the only but minor negative point. Extremely Likely to Recommend .

On the whole the service is excellent. Most staff are always friendly and helpful. I have always been able to access either a doctor or nurse practitioner at the time i need it.

Service is slow, long wait to get an appointment

Never get in on time, no one ever says sorry, Reception area is a joke, does not work. Unhelpful receptionists. People say they are going to do something and never do.

Please have better queuing system for reception, no chairs remove table

Couldn’t get an appointment for a month, then the nurse said she didn’t have time to prescribe the pill and the reception won’t book me in even though the nurse said I could. Terrible organisation.

Practice comment – We offer a wide range of appointments, which includes urgent sit and wait on the day booking, afternoon telephone triage, doctor telephone consultation, 48 hr access appointments and routine appointments. We always endeavour to provide an appointment for a patient is one is needed.

The chair outside reception is there for an unwell patient who may need to sit down. The table is there to enable patient to use if they need to complete a form. Our preference would be for patients to queue on the opposite side of the reception, which would also mean the reception is more confidential.

We are sorry that sometime patients need to queue outside reception. We like to make sure each patient has the time that they need with the receptionist and in a confidential manner. By having 2 receptionists in the same area this would mean that the confidentiality would be lost.

Some things a patient can do to avoid the need to go to reception.

If you use the internet, ask the receptionist for a user name and password to order your repeat prescriptions and make appointments online. If you have a mobile number you can receive a reminder of your appointment, we need to record your consent on our computer system for this.

Some patients pick up prescriptions from the reception desk. Local pharmacies can do this for you, you will need to go to the pharmacy of your choice and sign a form. The next time you have a prescription (if it’s a repeat you can order online) you can go to the pharmacy to pick up your medication.

The least busy time at reception is between 1-3:30pm.
